About
Swiftcord is a 100% native macOS Discord client built with SwiftUI, with no embedded browser and no bundled runtime. It runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 26 or later and supports Liquid Glass. It is designed to look and feel like part of your Mac, with smooth animations, familiar controls, system materials, keyboard shortcuts, and standard Apple interface patterns. Messages, rich text, and embeds are designed to look as you would expect. Swiftcord v2 is a new codebase rebuilt from scratch, with no code reused from v1.
Swiftcord supports voice and video, which the site describes as the first full voice and video support in a third-party Discord client. It launches quickly, moves between conversations smoothly, and uses few system resources. In the site's benchmarks, Swiftcord used 73% less memory than the Discord app while messaging (225 MB vs. 842 MB) and 70% less during video calls (218 MB vs. 732 MB). Its energy impact was also lower in both cases: 28% lower while messaging (4.6 vs. 6.35) and 17% lower during video calls (0.82 vs. 0.99).
iPadOS support is listed as coming soon. The site also invites users to join the Swiftcord Discord server to interact directly with developers and other community members.
