About
swiftDialog is a modern macOS dialog utility built for administrators. It displays customizable dialogs from the command line, so you can present messages and collect information directly from your scripts. Its quick start examples show simple notification dialogs, user input forms with text fields, and progress indicators.
Dialogs can include a range of content, such as Markdown text, images, videos, web pages, banner images, and backgrounds. Users can enter information through text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns, item lists, and radio buttons. Advanced options include JSON configuration, live updates, timers, notifications, full screen presentation, window sizing, layout control, and an inspect mode. Deployment features cover the login window, authorization, exit codes, output capture, preferences, and variables.
The project offers example scripts, including a complete demo application, Jamf Pro scripts, update notification examples, a jamfHelper replacement migration guide, and shell command examples. Resources include a Dialog Builder visual configuration tool, a Community Showcase, a Common Issues troubleshooting guide, and built-in help. Support is available through the MacAdmins Slack #swiftdialog channel, GitHub for reporting issues and requesting features, and a GitHub Wiki, API Reference, and video tutorials.
