Synology Chat is an all-in-one, license-free, and private cloud messaging service. You can start conversations between one or more people, or create public or private channels to keep information consistent across your team. For confidentiality, you can enable optional end-to-end encryption for conversations or channels.

Chat includes tools for managing day-to-day communication, such as message pinning, bookmarks, hashtags, threads, polls, forwarding, reminders, and message scheduling. You can mention users or pin messages to keep important information visible, and use the Bulletin board to find shared files and links. Messages can also be used to create Synology Calendar events and send invitations, and Chat can launch Jitsi video calls (a third-party application).

Synology Chat runs in the browser and on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. It can connect to existing company directories through AD/LDAP support, and it works with external applications through webhooks and bots. Chat is included with the Synology NAS you purchase and can be installed through Package Center.
