About
Tag Editor for Mac is a spreadsheet application for editing audio metadata. It supports ID3 tags for WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and MP3 files, XIPH/Vorbis Comments for FLAC files, and MP4 tags for M4A and MP4 files. Its window has a toolbar and a table of rows and columns, and you can open multiple spreadsheet windows or tabs at once.
You can batch edit, cut, copy, paste, and clear tags, and manage artworks. The app can rename multiple files, using either automatic or manual modes, and can download metadata and album covers from AcoustID, MusicBrainz, and CoverArt. Tags can also be loaded from paths, Music, or iTunes. Find and replace works on text and numbers in tags, and the app can fix encoding, unify cases, and remove extra spaces and characters.
You can apply batch tagging, find and replace, undo, and other edits to a selected range of cells or an entire spreadsheet, with keyboard shortcuts for working in one window. Customer reviews describe it as useful for cleaning up track, artist, and file names, and for organizing large audio collections.
