About
TexturePacker is a sprite sheet packer for creating sprite sheets from your images and optimizing your game graphics. It works with any game engine and is available for macOS, as well as Windows and Linux. To create a sheet, you drag a folder of sprites onto the app, and Smart-folders automatically re-pack the sheet when sprites are added, renamed, or deleted. You can choose from packing algorithms: Grid for engines that don't support sheet data files, Basic for speed, MaxRects for smaller sheets, and Polygon for tighter packing with engines that support polygon sprites.
TexturePacker also reduces memory use and file size. Trimming removes transparent areas around sprites, and identical sprites are detected and stored only once. Multipack creates the fewest sprite sheets needed for all your sprites, and filters control which sprites go on which sheet. For multiple screen resolutions, sprites can be automatically downscaled for all devices. For smaller files, the app offers PNG compression with pngquant and Zopfli, as well as hardware compressed texture formats such as ETC1, ETC2, PVRTC, DXT, and ASTC.
For artists, TexturePacker includes tools to reduce rendering artifacts, a 9-patch editor for scalable UI elements, and a pivot point editor with a live animation preview. It also has a sprite sheet splitter for extracting sprites from an existing sheet so you can re-pack them.
