About
Textus is a free and open source Markdown editor for macOS, Windows, and Linux. You write what you see with live formatting, and you can add formulas, tables, and diagrams, including mind maps, timelines, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and Gantt charts. You can choose a writing mode such as Zen Mode, Typewriter Mode, Split View, or Source Code Mode, and pick a theme such as Default, Paper, Slate, Forest, or Parchment. When you're done, you can export your work to PDF, Word, HTML, ODT, RTF, or EPUB.
Textus includes an AI writing assistant. It offers a grammar check that flags slips and suggests fixes, reviews your writing with suggestions, and can continue what you're writing next. It also revises your text sentence by sentence and provides built-in skills such as /tighten, /proofread, /translate, and /change-tone. The assistant learns your style, remembers what you ask for, and grows with you over time.
Textus 1.0 was released on October 20. You can download it from the website or from GitHub.
