About
Thaw is an open source menu bar manager for macOS. It hides the menu bar items you don't need, brings them back on demand, and lets you find any of them with a keystroke. Thaw is free with no subscription, no account, and no tracking, and a new macOS release never requires an upgrade purchase. Its code is licensed under GPL-3.0.
Beyond hiding items, Thaw lets you organize them into groups, switch between profiles, customize your layout, and keep distractions away with Zen Mode. Every action is also available as a thaw:// link, so apps like Raycast, Floe, and Shortcuts, or a shell script, can control Thaw.
Thaw can be installed with Homebrew (brew install thaw, or brew install thaw@beta for the beta), or by downloading the disk image from the releases page and dragging Thaw to Applications.
