About
ThoughtDAG is an open-source AI conversation canvas for macOS that makes model context visible, editable, and testable. Instead of hiding context inside a linear chat history, it treats the graph as the context. You can clip a passage or figure into its own source-linked node, ask questions from a selected passage, and wire only the nodes you want into the next request. Before sending, you can preview the source nodes, their order, and the token count the model will receive.
The app also lets you test how context changes answers. You can delete a single edge, ask the same question again, and see the removed branch leave the request, with the answer updating in place. The app supports a per-turn tool record switch, which is off by default. The Mac app is available as a Homebrew cask (brew install --cask thoughtdag) or as a .dmg download, with separate builds for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The macOS builds are signed and notarized by Apple, and the current version is v0.5.26.
