About
TimeStory is a timeline app for Mac, iPad, and iPhone that lets you draw events across days or decades using a simple, intuitive, drag-and-drop interface. You can style your timeline by choosing shapes, colors, fonts, gridlines, headers, icons, and images, and add structure and content with sections, tags, and descriptions. Large timelines can be filtered quickly by any of these attributes, and you can set your own time scale, with units from days to years, flexible formats, and pinch-to-scale zooming.
TimeStory also supports sharing and integration. You can export your work as PDF or PNG, import and export CSV files to work with other apps, and automate workflows with Shortcuts (currently Mac-only). Reviewers describe it as useful for project planning, education, and history, with one user noting its value for managing construction projects and communicating schedules to clients.
TimeStory is developed by an independent developer, Aaron Trickey (Casual Programmer, LLC), and has been in development since 2019. Support is available by email at support@timestory.app.
What's new
All release notesTimelines with images in them get a big boost in performance with this update. They will load faster, editing and navigation will be quicker and smoother (especially on older hardware), the app will use less memory, and the files will usually be much smaller than before. Also fixed a bug where a closed timeline would lose your scroll position when you reopened it.
