About
Timing records your time automatically as you work in apps like web browsers, office tools, note-taking apps, development tools, and video production software, so you can keep focusing on your work and review your time when you choose. It also tracks phone calls, meetings, calendar events, and reminders, and it detects when you stop using your Mac so you can exclude idle time. Tracking is document-based, capturing the full file path or URL for each activity.
Timing's AI summaries show what you worked on and highlight key patterns, and its AI groups related activities and surfaces the topics that matter most. You can assign time with drag and drop, and the intelligent timeline combines related time blocks. Holding ⌥ while dragging creates rules that permanently automate assignments. Through MCP, AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex can file your activities into projects and set up rules for you. You can also assign productivity scores to projects and track how your productivity changes over time.
Timing can optionally sync tracking data across all your Macs and store it in the cloud. It can import mobile app usage from Screen Time, and you can start and stop timers from your phone using the web app. For teams, members report time toward shared projects, and admins see only aggregate times for team projects. Timing offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card needed.
