Tinderbox

About

Tinderbox is a Mac workbench for notes that helps you visualize, analyze, and share your ideas. Its map view shows relationships and links among dozens or hundreds of notes, and you can also view your notes as timelines, charts, outlines, and more. Notes can use prototypes so that changes to a prototype are inherited instantly by notes that haven't been set to differ. Agents scan your notes continuously to find items that match your criteria, and they can help build custom project dashboards.

Tinderbox also helps keep your information organized. Its AI recognizes addresses and looks up their geographic locations, and it finds names and organizations mentioned in your notes to help agents tag and organize your work. Documents can supply routine metadata and remind you of gaps and errors, and they can flag words you repeat too often. Tinderbox files are stored as XML on your own computer, and you can export to formats including HTML, XML, RSS, and OPML.

Tinderbox works with other tools you may already use. It shares notes with Simplenote, Notes, Evernote, and DEVONthink Pro, and a note added in the iPhone Notes app can be routed automatically to the appropriate Tinderbox project on your Mac. According to the website, Tinderbox 11.8 adds faster and more flexible AI connections, faster exports, better map views, and fixes for dozens of delays and inconveniences.
