About
Tine is a fast, local, Logseq-compatible outliner. It reads and writes the same Markdown files Logseq does, so you can switch between the two without importing, exporting, or being locked in. On macOS it is a signed and notarized app, and it can be installed with Homebrew using brew install --cask tine. Tine is free and open source under AGPL-3.0, and the website notes that it is not yet 1.0.
Tine adds several features on top of the Logseq format. Split view and tabs let you divide the window into panes, each with its own tabs and history. Ctrl+K search results can be kept in persistent tabs, refined with filters, and shown as a list, table, or board. Sheets turn a bullet and its children into a spreadsheet-style grid, a typed field table, or a board. Concord shows conflicting versions of a page side by side when a sync tool such as Syncthing, Dropbox, or git creates them. A global quick-capture hotkey opens a small always-on-top box that files a bullet to today's journal or to a new page.
Tine can also publish a graph as a static site that keeps search, tabs, split view, and navigation working, with no server needed. The website describes the Guide, Tine's own documentation graph, as an example of this, and it can be tried in the browser. Tine's core is shared across Linux, macOS, Windows, Android, and iPhone and iPad, and it is designed to sit alongside Logseq rather than replace it.
