About
Topaz Gigapixel is an AI image upscaler available for Mac and Windows, either as a standalone app or as a plugin for image editing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. It offers nine AI enhancement models and can upscale images up to 6x, with the goal of adding accurate detail to the original rather than just more pixels. Features mentioned on the site include Lossless Zoom, Restore, and Recover Faces.
Rendering is available in two ways. Unlimited local rendering keeps your files on your computer, which the site positions for confidential or proprietary material. Unlimited cloud rendering takes the processing load off your hardware and is presented as the fastest option, with access to the latest AI models.
The site describes Gigapixel as the first commercially available AI image upscaler, released in 2019, and says it is used by professional photographers, fine artists, designers, illustrators, and creative teams. It also states that more than 2 billion images have been processed.
