About
Tor Browser isolates each website you visit so third-party trackers and ads can't follow you. Cookies automatically clear when you're done browsing, and so does your browsing history. It also aims to make all users look the same, which makes it harder for you to be fingerprinted based on your browser and device information.
Tor Browser prevents someone watching your connection from knowing which websites you visit; anyone monitoring your browsing can only see that you're using Tor. Your traffic is relayed and encrypted three times as it passes over the Tor network, which is made up of thousands of volunteer-run servers called Tor relays. With Tor Browser, you can also access sites your home network may have blocked.
Tor Browser is developed by the Tor Project, a 501(c)(3) US nonprofit that creates free software and open networks to advance human rights and defend privacy online. The Tor Project is funded by donors and does not sell your data.
