About
TouchOSC for Mac is a modular control surface built on a rewritten application with a GPU-powered, integrated editor for creating control layouts. The site lists many control types, including round, triangular, and hexagonal shapes, nested containers, and multi-line text with unicode support. Layouts can be built with the editor and previewed in real time on connected touch-screen devices, and multiple instances can be synchronized over a network.
TouchOSC can send and receive any number of MIDI and OSC messages across many connections at once. It supports OSC over UDP and TCP, along with wired, wireless, and virtual MIDI. For more advanced control, a scripting engine provides access to all aspects of a controller, while local messages let you link controls without coding. The Mac version supports Intel and Apple silicon, runs on macOS 10.13 or later, and Wacom multi-touch display support is available on macOS.
The downloads are free to try without restrictions, and the license is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. A single license covers one user across desktop platforms, and all versions include the same features. The separate TouchOSC Bridge, a free standalone application, relays MIDI messages between TouchOSC and other MIDI-capable software on your computer.
