About
TouchSwitcher is a Touch Bar app for launching and switching between apps on MacBook Pro. Your most recent apps sit right next to the TouchSwitcher icon, and you can tap app icons directly instead of using the Dock. Favorite apps appear to the left of open apps, and you can choose to hide them and reveal them by swiping left instead.
To open the app list, tap the TouchSwitcher icon in the system Control Strip, or use a customizable keyboard shortcut. Press and hold or Control-tap an app icon to Hide, Quit, or mark it as a favorite. Shift-tap app icons to hide several at once, or Option-tap to quit them. Press and hold or Control-tap the TouchSwitcher icon, or use the Gear icon in the app list, to open Settings. Shift-tap temporarily hides the icon, and Option-tap quits TouchSwitcher.
In Touch Bar Settings, you can override what the Touch Bar shows for certain apps, choosing from Expanded Control Strip, F1, F2, etc. Keys, App Controls, Spaces, or Quick Actions. Only one custom control can be shown in the Control Strip at a time. If other apps such as Safari, Music, or Xcode push the TouchSwitcher icon out of view, the keyboard shortcut brings it back.
