About
TranscribeX is a Mac app for transcribing meetings, dictation, interviews, lectures, and audio or video files. It records Zoom, Teams, Meet, Slack, and Discord calls without a bot joining, and can dictate text into any Mac app using a push-to-talk key. It also provides live captions with speaker labels and translation in 30+ languages, and can transcribe from YouTube and 1000+ sites with SRT or VTT subtitle export.
The app labels speakers by name using Voice Profiles, matches recordings to calendar events, and can generate AI summaries with key points, decisions, and action items. Summaries and transcripts can be emailed automatically when a meeting ends or sent manually. Users can chat with their transcripts and choose from several AI providers, or run a local model inside the app. Several transcription engines are offered, including Whisper, Parakeet, NVIDIA Nemotron, Qwen3 ASR, and Apple On-Device.
The website states that all transcription happens on the user's device and that nothing leaves the device. It lists a free tier with unlimited transcription and a one-time $39 Pro upgrade.
