About
Trickster is a Mac app that keeps the files, folders, apps, and web links you have recently used within one click in your menu bar. It brings together recent files from every app and pages from every browser into a single list, so you can find something you saved or closed without searching through Finder. Items can be dragged into other apps such as email, Slack, Figma, or upload forms, and you can choose which folders Trickster watches. Favorites keep your most-used files, folders, apps, and links in a sidebar.
Browser support comes through the Save to Trickster extension for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, which sends pages to Trickster, or through an Auto-track Documents option that adds the pages you work on automatically. Trickster can be opened from anywhere with a global shortcut and navigated with keyboard shortcuts. Built-in and custom filters group a project's files and links together, each with an icon. Trickster also integrates with Alfred, DEVONthink, and Hookmark, and can be automated with AppleScript.
Trickster stores your data on your Mac, requires no account, and sends browser links directly to the app rather than through a server. Trickster 4 requires macOS Tahoe (26) or later, and older versions are available for earlier macOS releases.
