About
Tuna is a native Swift launcher for macOS that works on one shape: find a thing, choose what to do with it, and optionally say where it goes. Press Tab on any result to see what it can do. Apps, files, text, notes, tasks, clipboard items, and windows all work the same way, and extensions such as Notes, Reminders, Safari, Obsidian, Things, and GitHub add more subjects and actions to the same sentence. Tuna has four modes: Fuzzy Mode for typing a few letters to find something, Text Mode for calculations, unit and currency conversion, and text transformations, Talk Mode for dictation with local speech models, and Combo Mode for key sequences that run commands directly.
Tuna is private by default. It has no account, no cloud, and no subscription, and it states that it never sees your queries, clipboard, or transcripts. Clipboard history and the Shelf are encrypted at rest. Settings live in a config.toml file, with a CLI and URL scheme available for scripting. Prompts are Markdown files that can run on any text using Apple's on-device models or your own endpoint.
Tuna is free to use, with soft limits on everyday launching. A one-time $49 Pro license removes those limits and adds unlimited extensions, custom script folders, uncapped clipboard history, currency conversion, every theme, and every local dictation model. One license covers three Macs. Tuna is currently version 0.109 and requires macOS 15 or later.
