About
Turingly is a native, deterministic Turing machine simulator built specifically for macOS 15.6 and later. Designed for researchers, educators, students, and engineers, it lets you inspect the tape visually, run machines step by step or continuously at an adjustable clock speed, and author custom transition tables through an interactive matrix that validates alphabets and flags incomplete transitions before execution. The app ships with 40 pre-verified built-in algorithms covering tape operations, binary and unary arithmetic, string manipulation, and classic decision problems, and machine configurations and catalogs can be exported and imported as human-readable JSON files.
Turingly is written in Swift and SwiftUI following Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, with support for Dark and Light Mode and keyboard shortcuts. It is fully self-contained and sandboxed, and it does not include analytics, advertising trackers, crash telemetry, or background network connections, so all computation stays on your device. Its only stored data is local interface preferences and your machines, which remain in the app's local store.
