About
VirtualHereServer is a Mac app that lets you remotely access USB devices connected to your Mac over the network, just as if the devices were plugged in directly. According to the website, it can share devices such as iLoks, printers, disks, iPhones, USB-Serial devices, and most other USB devices. It works on macOS 10.15 or later, on both Intel and Silicon Macs. The current version is 4.8.8.
To install, download the VirtualHereServerUniversal.dmg, open it, and drag VirtualHereServerUniversal to your Applications folder. Double-click the app in Applications to start the server, which then shares most USB devices connected to your Mac. Clicking Minimize runs it in the System Tray, and clicking Close exits the server.
To use a shared device on another computer, you need to download the USB Client software for that machine. The trial edition shares only one device at a time, and purchasing a license removes this limitation.
