About
Viscosity is an OpenVPN client that lets you import, configure, and monitor secure OpenVPN connections through a fast, native interface, without command-line complexity. Its connection editor lets you set up new connections from scratch or edit existing ones, from network settings to multi-factor authentication. Connection folders help you group connections, and you can use scripting to control Viscosity or run custom actions when a connection changes state.
Viscosity keeps you informed with an unobtrusive main menu that gives an instant overview of your VPN connections and a Details window with a traffic graph and detailed connection statistics. Its DNS system can send all DNS queries through your VPN's DNS servers or only lookups for selected domains, and it supports complete IPv6, including Split DNS. Traffic obfuscation can help connections work when Deep Packet Inspection is in use, through an existing Obfsproxy server or one you run yourself.
Viscosity is available free for a 30-day trial, and the full version costs $16 as a one-time purchase with no subscription. It is also offered for Windows, and the website notes that it has been protecting users for over a decade with regular updates. Enterprises can bundle Viscosity with preconfigured settings and connection profiles for their users.
