About
Vorta is a backup client for macOS and Linux desktops that integrates the BorgBackup tool with your desktop environment. It is designed to protect your data from disk failure, ransomware, and theft. Backups are encrypted, deduplicated, and compressed, using Borg as the backend. You can back up to local drives, your own server, or BorgBase, a hosting service for Borg backups.
Vorta is open source and free to use, modify, improve, and audit. Flexible profiles let you group source folders, backup destinations, and schedules. All point-in-time archives can be viewed in one place, and you can restore individual files from them.
Vorta should work on any platform that supports Qt and Borg, including macOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and Arch Linux. It is licensed under GPLv3.
