About
WailBrew is a graphical interface for Homebrew on macOS that lets you install, update, and manage brew formulae, casks, taps, and services without using the terminal. You can browse installed packages, search and filter them, install, uninstall, or upgrade individually, in bulk, or all at once, and view details such as dependencies and dependents. It also checks for outdated packages, shows a Dock badge when updates are available, and includes a Leaves view for finding packages that can be safely removed.
Beyond package management, WailBrew covers Homebrew services, letting you list services and their status and start, stop, restart, or run them from the app. Maintenance tools include brew doctor with deprecated-formula detection, cleanup with a dry-run preview, Brewfile export, and the ability to update Homebrew itself. Taps can be listed, added, removed, and trusted. Power-user options include a command palette, keyboard shortcuts, light and dark mode that follows macOS, proxy and mirror support, and session logging of every command run.
WailBrew is built with Wails, Go, and React, runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and requires macOS 11.0 or later and an installed Homebrew. Its UI is available in 12 languages. Inspired by Cakebrew, it is open source under the MIT license and can be installed with `brew install --cask wailbrew`.
