About
Weasis is a free, open-source DICOM viewer for medical imaging, available for standalone and web-based use. It opens common DICOM exams, including CT, MR, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography, PET, ECG, structured reports, segmentations, and RT plans. Clinicians can use 2D, MPR, and 3D viewers, with multi-monitor and HiDPI support and a full annotation toolkit. Measurements include calibrated distances, angles, ROI statistics, and histograms.
Weasis connects to hospital PACS or web archives through DICOMweb and DIMSE Q/R, and can be launched from clinical portals in one click. It can also read files from a local folder, USB drive, or DICOM CD, and it works offline. Integrators can connect it to dcm4chee, ViewerHub, and EHR, RIS, or HIS portals.
Weasis is released under the EPL 2.0 and Apache 2.0 licenses and is developed openly on GitHub, with plug-in and architecture documentation for developers. The text describes it as used in production at HUG and across hospitals, trials, and portals worldwide.
