About
Whalebird is a desktop client for the Fediverse. It supports many SNS platforms, including Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, Firefish, Gotosocial, and Pixelfed, and it has a Slack-like user interface. You can switch between accounts, and timelines update in real time using streaming. When you receive a notification, it appears on your desktop.
Whalebird offers several color themes, including a dark theme similar to Mastodon's web interface. If your screen is narrow, the side menu collapses automatically. If you prefer a multi-column layout, the website recommends trying Fedistar, a separate multi-column Fediverse client for desktop.
Whalebird is free software and does not use advertising. The project is supported by donations, which can be made through GitHub Sponsors.
