About
WiFi Explorer is a Mac app for discovering, monitoring and troubleshooting wireless networks using your Mac's built-in Wi-Fi adapter. Its channel graph shows every nearby network and the channels it uses, so you can see which networks overlap with yours, which channels are crowded and which are free. It also helps you find the best spot for an access point or mesh unit and lets you follow signal strength over time. The app is designed to be easy to read, so you don't need to be a Wi-Fi expert to understand the results.
WiFi Explorer finds every Wi-Fi network in range, including your own, and shows how each one is configured, including its network name (SSID), BSSID, vendor, country code, channel, band, security configuration, supported data rates and number of streams. You can sort and filter scan results, identify access points by name, filter out networks you don't care about, and save scan results.
When something isn't right, WiFi Explorer is built to help you find out why, including channel conflicts, overlapping networks and configuration issues. It works the same way at home, in a small office or anywhere you take your Mac. WiFi Explorer costs US$19.99, is available on the Mac App Store, and offers a 3-day free trial. It requires macOS 13.5 or later.
