About
WiFi Explorer is a Mac app for discovering, monitoring and troubleshooting wireless networks using your Mac's built-in Wi-Fi adapter. It lays out nearby networks, their channels and signal strength in a clear format, so you can see which networks overlap with yours, which channels are crowded, and where a signal is strongest. It also shows detailed configuration for each network, including its name (SSID), BSSID, vendor, country code, channel, band, security settings, supported data rates and number of streams, and lets you sort and filter scan results.
The app is aimed at resolving Wi-Fi issues such as channel conflicts, overlapping networks, poor access point placement and configuration problems, whether at home, in a small office or wherever you use your Mac. Users can save scan results, annotate networks, and identify access points by name. WiFi Explorer requires macOS 13.5 or later and is available on the Mac App Store and from the developer's website, with a 3-day free trial and a price of US$19.99. The website also describes a Pro version (WiFi Explorer Pro 3) that adds features such as custom column profiles, capture file import, remote scanning, and spectrum analysis integration.
