About
Winq is a Mac app that focuses the screen or window you look at, with the pointer moving to where you're looking. It reads where your head points and where your eyes sit, and it lives in your menu bar and runs entirely on your Mac. It never switches focus while you type, and it waits after you use the mouse. Quick glances are ignored, so reading across a screen doesn't move focus. Windows that overlap are handled by the part you can see, and you can switch whole screens or the exact window you look at.
Setup is a short calibration: a dot moves to nine spots on each screen while you follow it with your head, your eyes or both, taking about twenty seconds per screen. Winq learns from every click, treating where you click as a hint about where you were looking, so accuracy improves as you use it. If gaze starts missing after you sit differently, you can re-centre in two seconds from the menu bar without recalibrating. A pause shortcut (Shift-Command-G) is available, and Winq also pauses when your Mac locks or sleeps.
Winq uses your camera at 720p and 30 fps, and it says no frames are saved to disk or sent anywhere. Version 1.6 requires macOS 13 or later and supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. No account or card is needed for the free one-day trial, after which you can buy Winq.
