About
Workspaces is a Mac app that stores links to all the resources for a project, such as folders, files, apps, websites, URLs, Terminal, shortcuts, and emails (Mail app only), so they are easy to access. When you click START, it opens the resources you have chosen, and you can also launch any of them individually. When you click FINISH, it cleans up by launching actions such as quitting apps through the QuitApps plugin. You can add resources by dragging them in or choosing them from the app menu, and plugins can perform additional actions like running shell scripts.
The app is aimed at long-term projects and multi-project workflows. It helps you switch from one project to another without closing and opening many things, reduces everyday preparation like searching and organizing, and remembers rarely used apps, files, and websites whose names you often forget. It also helps keep your desktop clean.
Workspaces is a full-native macOS app that requires macOS 14 or newer. It is available as a one-time purchase for $19.99 for the current major version, with no subscription, and is also on the Mac App Store and Setapp. A 30-day free trial is offered. According to the site, all data is stored locally on your device, and the app does not collect personal data or usage analytics.
