xattred

About

xattred is a full-featured extended attribute editor for the Mac. It lets you inspect and edit all the extended attributes (xattrs) associated with a file or folder, and cut, copy, and paste any xattr between files or folders. You can also create your own new xattrs with arbitrary contents.

xattred can add a quarantine xattr to a file, which forces a full Gatekeeper check without downloading the file. It also includes a Crawler that explores the types, sizes, and content of xattrs.

The latest update fixes a crashing bug in the Crawler. xattred 1.7 is a Universal App for Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe, and Golden Gate, and xattred 1.5 is a Universal App for High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, and Sonoma.
