Yoink - Better Drag and Drop

Yoink is a Mac app that simplifies and speeds up drag and drop. When you start dragging files, a shelf appears at the edge of your screen where you can drop them. With your mouse and fingers free, you can then navigate more easily to the destination, including across windows, spaces, and full-screen apps, and drag the files out of Yoink to where they belong. Yoink can hold virtually anything you can drag on your Mac, from files in Finder to text and images from apps and websites. It behaves like Finder when moving or copying files, with the Option key to force a copy and the Command key to force a move.

Yoink can be customized in several ways. You can choose whether it appears at the screen edge immediately, only when the cursor nears the edge, or at the mouse cursor, and you can make it ignore certain apps. A keyboard shortcut shows or hides Yoink, recalls files you previously moved out of it, and saves your clipboard's contents. Yoink also includes a clipboard history, accessible from its Notification Center widget or the app itself, and integrates with macOS through system services, a Share extension, Handoff, Continuity Camera, Terminal, and Automator.

Yoink is a one-time purchase available on the Mac App Store or the developer's website for 9,99 € / $8.99 / £8.99, and a free trial is offered. It requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer and is localized into several languages. Functionality is the same across the Mac App Store, website, and Setapp versions, and it is also part of the ESS Productivity Bundle on the Mac App Store.
