About
Zero Duplicates is a duplicate file finder for Mac that compares what is inside each file rather than its name, so it catches renamed, moved, or re-downloaded copies. You choose folders to scan, such as Photos, Downloads, iCloud Drive, or an external drive, and the app groups matching files together. An Auto Select option can keep the oldest or newest copy in each group and mark the rest for deletion, and you can preview any file and adjust the selection before deleting anything.
The app is built around safety: at least one copy in every group is always kept, and every deletion requires your confirmation. Scans run entirely on your device, so your files never leave your Mac. On Mac, it can also scan USB drives, NAS volumes, and locally synced folders for iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive. It follows your system's light or dark appearance.
Zero Duplicates is free to download and run unlimited scans, with up to 500 MB of duplicate deletion included; paying is only necessary to delete more. It has a 4.6 rating from 400+ App Store ratings and requires macOS 14 or later.
What's new
All release notesFolders, scan and results now live in one window, with no setup dialog in between. Drop folders on the Dock icon or the window, or use "Open With" in the Finder. Auto Select has been redesigned and shows how many duplicates each folder holds. Selecting and deleting large result sets is much faster. Scan progress appears on the Dock icon, and a notification tells you when a scan finishes. Files stored only in the cloud are skipped instead of downloaded, and the results say how many. After a cleanup, a summary shows how much space you freed. Feedback is one click away in the Help menu, and the app has a new icon.
