About
Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool for collecting, organizing, annotating, citing, and sharing research. It is available for Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. Zotero automatically senses research as you browse the web, so you can collect articles, preprints, news stories, and books with a click. You can organize items into collections, tag them with keywords, or create saved searches that fill with relevant materials as you work.
Zotero creates references and bibliographies instantly in any text editor, including Word, LibreOffice, and Google Docs, and supports over 9,000 citation styles. It can optionally sync your files, notes, and bibliographic records across devices, and you can access your research from any web browser if you choose to sync. Zotero also supports collaboration, letting you co-write papers, distribute course materials, build shared bibliographies, and share a library with as many people as you like at no cost.
Zotero is open source and developed by an independent, nonprofit organization with no financial interest in your private information. You stay in control of your own data.
