LookAway is a native Mac break reminder app that helps reduce eye strain and screen fatigue. It gives you a heads-up before breaks begin, offers snooze options, and includes posture and blink reminders that work quietly in the background. A menu bar control and floating countdown keep you informed without interrupting your flow, and the app automatically pauses during screen recordings, meetings or calls, video playback, deep focus apps, and fullscreen gaming.

Breaks are customizable: you can choose calming sounds, set backgrounds or gradients, add personal messages, and run AppleScripts or Shortcuts when a break starts or ends. Planned Breaks let you schedule fixed-time pauses, such as a lunch break, and during breaks you can see the remaining time on your Lock Screen on the Mac and your paired iPhone or iPad. Breaks also sync to your iPhone or iPad so you can step away from every screen.

LookAway is available for macOS 13 and later and can be installed via Homebrew with `brew install --cask lookaway`. It is built to fit into existing workflows with global keyboard shortcuts and Focus Filters integration.
