About
MinMaxCal is a free, open source native macOS calendar app. It stays in your menu bar as a small agenda showing your next event or reminder with a countdown, and clicking it shows today and tomorrow. It requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later, and you can install it with Homebrew or download it for Mac.
When an accepted event or due reminder starts, MinMaxCal takes over every display, including full-screen apps, to interrupt procrastination. From the alert, you can join Zoom, Teams or Meet calls, or press Return to join a call or complete a reminder. You can also dismiss the alert or snooze a reminder if you need more time.
MinMaxCal uses the calendars and reminder lists you already have in macOS, and you choose which ones to show. Duplicate meetings are combined, and overdue reminders stay visible until completed. Your Mac's accounts handle syncing, so there's no extra account to create. You can optionally mirror events between calendars, keeping the details or showing only Busy or Travel, and preview the changes before turning mirroring on. The original events stay unchanged.
