TaskPaper is a plain text to-do list app for Mac. It feels like a plain text editor, but it is backed by an outliner: each line you type is formatted into a project, task, or note. The app is keyboard friendly and lets you organize lists with drag and drop. Use @tags, saved searches, and filters by @tag, type, or content, and use fold, focus, and filter to cut big lists down to size.
TaskPaper files are plain text, so you can edit them in any text editor or in other TaskPaper-compatible apps created by other developers. Dates and times are managed in plain text, and you can import and export with Reminders.app. For customization, TaskPaper supports LESS/CSS stylesheets for theming, an extensive JavaScript API for scripting, and Dark Mode.
TaskPaper is finished software, polished and updated to the latest version of macOS. TaskPaper 3 modernizes the app while keeping its original plain text foundation, which has been in use since 2006. The source code is available to license holders, and pull requests are welcome. An active support community is available to help.
