Typibara is a Mac app that lives in the bottom right of your screen as a companion while you work. You can pick a size (Small, Medium, or Large) and a look, including Dark, Bright, or Pink, with more skins mentioned as coming, such as Lo-fibara, Typidoggo, and Typifriends. You can also configure where it appears, and it's designed to stay out of your way without disturbing you.
Typibara is optimised for low CPU and memory usage, and its resource use drops close to zero when hidden. You can turn animations off or choose to show it only in certain apps. It requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later, is currently available only for macOS, and costs £4.99 with lifetime updates and no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Privacy is a core point: Typibara works completely offline, never accesses the internet, and does not store or share your data beyond the settings you choose to save. To use it, you grant accessibility and input monitoring permissions so it can detect key presses for its real-time animation responses.
